About Grasp
Our mission is to turn time online into capability. The confidence of the DIY movement, rebuilt for the internet age. A quiet revolution, household by household. It matters because reasoning is part of what makes us human. An hour spent figuring something out is an hour spent being what we are.
We’re hiring
Roots
Online self-study. We became adults learning online: blog posts, books, YouTube, papers, Reddit threads, side projects mostly unfinished. Most of what we use, we learnt there, but we also picked up a skill beyond any subject: how to learn in a place never designed for it. Grasp is how we pass it on.
Revolut. Half the team worked there for years. We share investors, including one of Revolut’s cofounders. We’re our own company but we’ve inherited the working style: small team, high bar, everyone hands-on, ship and correct fast.

Aspirations
The rigour of the tutorial system: one guide, a curated reading list worth your time, oral sessions with real push-back, no hiding. It’s the best learning format ever devised, but it’s been reserved for a few thousand people a year.

Today
We’re rebuilding it in software: we curate the best of the open internet, and interleave it with exercises that don’t let you pretend to know. All it takes is an internet connection, $6 a month, and effort. We have a small, growing customer base and investors who use the product themselves.
Current team
Everyone on the team has taught themselves something. Here’s what.

Ed
Cofounder & CEO
Self-study bio
These days I learn whatever building Grasp demands, from pedagogy and generative models to accounting and financial forecasting. At Revolut I taught myself clearing and settlement from scratch, FX risk, and a long tail of things from compliance to product ownership. It all started with building and overclocking PCs.

Oleg
Cofounder & CTO
Self-study bio
I worked out early that the classroom was never going to be enough. Despite a CS degree, I taught myself almost every language and framework I’ve actually used at work. Music went the same way: music school gave me the trumpet, and coaches and courses helped with singing and production, but guitar, ukulele and most of what I know about producing, I figured out on my own, enough to release music as an electronic artist. An online video-production course got me to finally learn my camera, and from there I picked up photography.

Serge
Cofounder & Head of AI
Self-study bio
I taught myself deep learning to transition from astrophysics into a senior research role at a major ML lab. Guitar and music production came along on the side.

Iana
AI
Self-study bio
I taught myself data structures and algorithms, then machine learning. Maths taught me to look for simple, efficient solutions—a habit I bring to my work in AI, chess, and even hiking. Writing novels taught me to explore ideas differently. And although I work with LLMs at Grasp, I’m still amazed that maths can generate writing. An LLM helped write this very bio.

Lina
Product
Self-study bio
I learn through curiosity and making things. At work that meant SQL and data, then product strategy and management as I grew beyond product design. Outside work I learned to draft sewing patterns to make my own wedding dress, and picked up building, fundraising and logistics to bring an art installation to Burning Man.

Danil
Founding Engineer
Self-study bio
I’ve been curious about pretty much everything for as long as I can remember. Learning with Grasp keeps that curiosity going and helps me dig deeper into application engineering, investing and language study. It’s also become a great companion for my hobbies: the lesson materials, both articles and videos, keep making me better at digital photography and soldering.
Careers
We’re a small team with a high bar, and everyone here is hands-on. These are the roles we’re hiring for now.
