  2. Start Deck 2: As you listen to Deck 1, count the beats ("1, 2, 3, 4"). On the next "1", press play on Deck 2.
  3. Initial Alignment: You will immediately hear if they are in or out of sync.
    • If you hear a single, solid kick drum, they are perfectly aligned.
    • If you hear a "flam" or double-hit sound, they are out of phase. Use the jog wheel on Deck 2 to make a quick correction until the beats lock together.
  4. Maintain the Phase: Now, the main task begins. Let both tracks play and listen intently.
    • The moment you hear the beats start to separate, you must act.
    • If Deck 2 sounds like it's "rushing" or slightly ahead, gently place your hand on the top of the jog wheel to slow it down momentarily, or give it a tiny nudge counter-clockwise.
    • If Deck 2 sounds like it's "dragging" or slightly behind, give the jog wheel a very small, gentle nudge clockwise to speed it up.
  5. Count to 16 Bars: Your goal is to keep the beats perfectly stacked for a full 64 beats (16 bars).
